You will need to use the Preferences ->Define your own columns feature to define additional columns.
Examples: a Series column to define the order in which a group of books must be read - e.g CS101 [1], CS101 [2] etc; a Date column to define the date by which the books must be read; a Yes/No column to indicate whether a book has been read -- etc. BR Last edited by BetterRed; 05-27-2019 at 06:50 PM. |

What function?
Have you read the calibre User Manual, have you watched the Video Tutorials Some of the optional plugins might be of use, see ==>> Index of plugins - e.g. View Manager, Job Spy (don't be mislead by the name), and Calibre Spy. As might some Template language features ==>> The calibre template language BR |

@transistor@: You can also look at the Reading List plugin. That plus some custom columns will probably cover everything that you want.

@transistor@ (are you a former Bell Labs employee?
![]() Calibre has the option to do Tri-state logic. All you have to do is adjust you thinking, to make use without greatly expanding (bloating) your column count Done Reading: Blank, not read. Date <2001, aborted/abandoned. Date >2000, finished Edited (touch up to my liking): Blank, not touched VC (started this with sigil flightcrew) T, passed (inc minor warns). F failed (has red flags). Blank not checked I also have a User_Tags for marking infrequent found issues. ![]() I still am amazed how well Kovid did for the initial Calibre2 DB structure and application features. Most of our current suggestions are to now fill edge usage cases |
