Text permitted values only in tag browser?

I have a couple of columns that are value permitted only that I would like to see in the tag browser. Is this possible?

I have a custom column of Fixed, with set permitted values (master_format). It shows in the Tag Browser.

AFAIK there are only a few column types that do NOT show: Comments is one,

How is it that I am not able to get it to show in my browser?

It's a read status column. In order to keep from having books show multiple read status' I chose set text. I can't seem to get it to show in the tags column.

It will be under its own column name

Is it possible you hid it accidentally?
In the tag Browser: Right click Show Hidden <<If that is not ther, then nothing was hidden

The tag browser doesn't show boolean (yes/no) columns. There is not much point since they only have a couple of values.

This isn't the case..it's a column that has only permitted answers. It's my read status column (read, Bookmark, re-reads, waiting for it, maybe, pre-ordered, DNF, unfinished) and others. A lot of tags, but if I don't have to type them all in each time, there is no chance of messing them up with misspellings.

I got tired of having inconsistent tags in it, and needing to memorize exact spelling when indicating it for other options (ie. icon rules and other plugins) since it was a fixed choice, I didn't have to type out the tag, it would just show up in a drop down list. I just have no way of seeing it in the browser.

You need to create a book (empty) that contains all the tags you are going to use.

I have two of these and they both show in the tag browser. But, you can hide them by right-clicking on them and selecting the hide option. And under it is the unhide option for previously hidden columns.

Yes, I checked, it wasn't an invisible category.
I'm not sure what happened, so I copied over the entries into a comma separated text column, the deleted the original column.

After some thinking I realized that this particular column (read status) has gone through some changes over the years. I will add or remove items answers. I am wondering if this might have had a hand in what was causing it to not show up in the browser because I remade the column exactly ( I had saved the choices on a text file) and it shows up now.

Is there a problem when permitted text columns change over time from one library to the next making them not show in the browser?

I don't change the title or heading of the column, but I do change the permitted answers.

Don't remove values from the allowed list until you have cleared them from use. This kind of field has no data value integrity check once the entry has been stored.

I can imagine it might go haywire if you copy books from LibraryA to LibraryB which have similarly named columns with different sets of permitted values (e.g. Colors: red, yellow, blue; and Colors: black, orange, purple, green, white), and/or you add and delete values and then do copies. The only time I wanted to do something like that I created a new column and used MDE S&R - but I can't remember the details.
