Galaxy S7 edge not detected in Calibre

I am having an issue with my phone, a Samsung Galaxy S7 edge not being detected by Calibre, I am using the latest 64bit version of the software and both windows 10 and my phone are up to date. Windows is able to access the phone and sd card and I can manually add remove files from there. As recommended else where I have done the debug device thing and those details are below. I do have some books already on my phone so it must of worked sometime in the past. Spoiler:

That log SHOWS the edge is being seen by the OS. Did it recently get a major firmware update? Do you have more than 1 MTP or PTP connected? IIRC MAC's and Linux have issues when this happens BTW check preferences: ignored devices (don't worry if that icon is not there. that confirms it has not been added to the ignore list) |

Do you have any antivirus running that may be wanting to disinfect/control access to usb drives? You say no devices except mouse and keyboard but there is a very long devices list in that log? Maybe starting windows in safe mode and also tweeting with all av disabled will give clues? And have you correctly selected what type of connection from th phones drop down connect as... Menu. My wife has a Samsung s7 and that will default to connecting for charging, not frmfile transfer, each time unless manually changed. well, it works now. not sure what changed. Turned the computer on this morning and it detected the phone. Took a good couple of minutes for it to appear in calibre though. Thanks everyone |
