Libra 2 Bricked, Options?

My otherwise excellently functioning Kobo Libra 2 froze while attempting to transfer books over a wireless Calibre connection to KOReader this afternoon and, when forcibly reset entered into the blank screen, blinking indicator cycle that apparently indicates that it is bricked. I've attempted power cycling it several times and manually factory resetting it according to the Kobo site. The only result being that it will flash a black screen and return to the previous state. It is well outside of warranty and customer support's consolation prize was $10 of store credit.

I'm just curious what the recommended options/procedure are for this. My cursory searching suggests that surgery (i.e. replacing the glued in microSD card with a newly flashed one) is the only option. Is there a recommended guide for this? Is there something else to try first? Does anyone want a Libra 2 for parts?

Thanks all. Also, I'm just going to assume this is the Libra's fault because I love KOReader and don't want to imagine that it will brick another ereader (but I'm disabling the Calibre plugin).

While you can remove and replace the µSD card in a Libra 2, the device comes in several different hardware variations which is a bit of a pain and several people have gotten over-enthused trying to remove the card and ended up damaging the holder.

I'm going to send you a PM with a link for the Libra 2 images and a thread which discusses the process.

I also recently bricked my Libra 2 (it also had a blank screen with a blinking light). After trying several methods, I was able to bring it back to life.
1. Hold the power button for 30 (I don't remember exactly how many) seconds
2. Put it on charge for a while. It took me about an hour to charge it, but on the forums it was advised to charge it for up to a day.
3. First, I held down the page turn button, then the power button, and then clicked randomly all over the bottom edge of the screen (taking into account that Libra was in the right-handed position). Given that both hands were already occupied with their own buttons, and there was no one around, I had to click on the screen with my nose (I felt like a complete idiot), but it worked, and I avoided replacing the microSD.
Maybe these steps will help you too.
