I'm new here... and a little shy, but I'll eventually get over it.

I first heard about this site through past YouTube videos that linked to tutorials here, and now that I've started what I call my third phase in e-books, I decided to actually join.

First phase: Apple Books and (tried) Kobo on iPad (gen 1) - some time in 2010/2011
Second phase: Kindle on Kindle Paperwhite (2012 model) - late 2013 to some time in 2015/2016
Third phase: Built-in reader (primarily PDFs via Calibre) and Kindle (plus many other services, but those are the primary ones I use) on Likebook Mimas - January 2019 to now

In the first phase, I was fine with EPUB as I didn't know about the formatting differences between e-books and real books, then in the second phase, I tried to get myself to read more often, but that ended up failing as I found myself "boxed in" with the software. I also tried reading college textbook PDFs on it, but it ended up slowing down. I only heard about Android-based e-readers later on, but I felt they weren't advanced enough at the time. Fast forward to January, and Good e-Reader put out their review of the Likebook Mimas, and so I felt that I really wanted one, so I bought one, as soon as it came up for sale on their official store, and I was awake. I could've bought from another store, but I live in Asia, so it was easier to buy from their official store. Receiving and setting it up marked the start of my third phase.

I guess it's time for me to talk about the stuff I read. Well, I have quite a lot of e-books (mostly on Calibre and Kindle), but haven't been reading full-time, and the usage widget on my Likebook Mimas shows (1 hour 32 minutes in total as of posting this, ever since I was one of the first to get mine). Not only do I have the many services I read from, but I also get to use a web browser (in my case, Firefox) and go to webcomic websites, and read from there, though I do also have Feeder installed. Of course, there are the note-taking features as well, but that would be a little off-topic.

Besides the Mimas, I do also have a Lenovo Yoga Tab 3 Pro, which is a great tablet, but is bogged down by their buggy UX (which I had learnt to live with) and the fact that their Android device division is absolutely disgustingly awful when it comes to updates. I wish Lenovo would just stop making Android products, or improve their Android software development/engineering team. Anyway, that's a tablet, so I primarily browse websites, social media, and watch videos on it, but for books, I do have apps for the same services that I have on my e-reader, but I also have Moon+ Reader with only the books from my Calibre library that have illustrations in colour. For example, this means I would have "The Fuzzy Princess" compilations there, but not "Ask a Cat" compilations (both series are by the same author), while on my e-reader, I would have basically all the books in my Calibre library (besides the Calibre quick-start guide, of course).
