Broken beyond repair?
Hi everyone!
I came across this forum as I seem to have (extra-ly) broken my already broken Kobo Glo, and you guys seem to be quite knowledgable. So I figured, if there is any way to fix it, you would know! While I was trying to replace the broken screen, I seem to have broken something off of the back of the motherboard (?), see the picture attached (yeah, I'm an idiot, I know ![]() Is there anyway to fix this, or is the e-reader lost forever? ![]() Thanks in advance! do you have a better picture?
these flex cable connectors have latches on them to hold the cable in place if you break the latch you might be able to do something else to hold the cable down if you break the connector itself then poo. well a new one could be soldered but that's not something you casually do at home |

So I broke the whole thing off (go big or go home right?
![]() I do know someone who can solder, so that might be an option. But I would need to get a new connector. Is that possible to find? (I attached another picture, hope this one is clear enough) (Also just noticed that the topic says HD, but it's just a normal Kobo Glo) Last edited by Steelpannetje; 04-02-2019 at 02:05 PM. |

no idea how you manage to do that

with some luck there is a type number on the connector itself otherwise you have to count pins and measure it... how to solder https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CVPEHgfeoGE your case more difficult since other components right next to it good luck |
