I send books from my Calibre to several friends. I have gotten the e-mail system setup and working.
Is there a way I can keep track of what I have sent. I tried adding a column called "Sent" to my display but I don't think it's configured properly and I don't know how to get it show which items I HAVE sent. Is there anyway to keep a record of what has been sent out? Thank you. jp |

The email SEND has no reverse connection to the DB (what you see)
If Sent is a Tag type, just enter 1 or more names (or ID's) separated by commas NOTE MR does not allow , any help supporting Piracy. You must have the Authors permission to share all books not in the public domain for where yo are |

The "books" aren't published items. They are documents, actually, and MINE.
I just used the word "books" generically. I am not pirating anything. |

Automatically, no.
Add a custom column of type Names (e.g. #sent_to/Sent To) and enter the names manually via Shift+F2 on the Sent To cell, viz BR |

Thanks, BR. I got that to work. I don't get the windows in your screen shot, but the new cell in the listing does open, and if I put in YES, it shows a check mark...which is what I wanted. That works.
Thanks, jp |

That window is from the Manage Tags (or custom tags) button(s) in the Metadata edit window. Left is the already defined. Right is the current assignments. Top is where you ADD a New value

The image I posted was taken after pressing Shift/F2 in the Send To cell in the Book List.
Yes you can get to it in the long-winded way by popping a dialogue box, making sure its showing the relevant tab, pointing your mouse at an unlabelled button, and clicking on it, but that's like driving from Belfast to Dublin via New York, Shanghai and Istanbul ![]() BR |
