How to Import directories of ebooks

Hi,
I messed up my directory of ebooks and have cleaned it and want to do a fresh import. I have the Calibre Library followed by authors and multiple subdiretories of books.

Is there a way to highlight the whole tree and have all imported or do I have to go folder by folder (Yuck).

Thanks

Calibre > Preferences > ToolBar > Add the 'Add Books' icon to your ToolBar. Then, select the menu option for adding books from all subdirectories in a recursive manner.

Why not just restore your backup? This is why we make backups of our important data!

Thanks Dalton. Sadly, under tools I found toolbars & menus. I already have add books on the main menu so adding it was not an option. I did not find an option for adding in a recursive manner (unless I am not following how the program imports books). I have tried various ways to highlight the whole directory or all subdirectories but the program will not add all subdirectories or sub sub directories. Any other suggestions or clarifications that might help me?

Harry: thank you for your response. I do have a back up but it has flaws in it...that is why I want a clean install of my books

It is easy to find. Use your right-click on the icon in the toolbar.
