Calibre installation gets "Another installation is in progress"
I remember using Calibre a few years ago. I wasn't sure if it was on this laptop. I don't see any trace of the installation except for a "Calibre Library" documents folder. This was probably copied from my old laptop.

When I tried to run the installer this morning, I got "Another installation is in progress". This happened the first time I tried to run it. It does this every time I attempt this.

There is no installation in progress.

I'm on Windows 7.

All I need to do is convert epub files (acsm) to Kindle format. If there's another way to do this besides Calibre, I'll use it.

You have a corrupt install (or a botched uninstall) Cleanning the registry might fix.

You do NOT convert ASCM files.
Those are TOKENS to retrieve an ADE (DRM'd) book into Adobe Digital Editions

The installation Windows is detecting as being 'in progress' it not necessarily a calibre install, it could be any install that didn't complete 'gracefully'.

Here are some ways to fix it ==>> Fix: "Another installation is already in progress" error N.B. In this instance Win7 and Win10 are much the same.

BTW that was the first item in a Google search for "Another installation is in progress"
