Any way to extract jpegs of the book covers?
I wanted to make a screen saver of tiles where each tile is a cover of a book from Calibre.
Is there a way to automatically generate jpegs of all my book covers? |

The Save to Disk Preferences has a checkbox to save the covers as separate files, they get the template name - e.g. {authors} - {title}.jpg. But IIRC you have to save a format file too, which you can delete en-masse easy enough.

Calibre stores the cover separately in the library. Each directory will have a cover.jpg file. You could iterate over the directory structure to read them.

... or do a search for *.jpg in the calibre library folder and copy the jpgs to some other place for further processing.
Even better could be if the screen saver start by looking for a calibre library and automatically read the jpgs from there. Only read, never write. It could also prioritize newer books. |

Oops!
cover.jpeg it is... My only excuse is that I treat the calibre libraries as black boxes and avoid even looking inside them.
