Causes of errors?
Trying to get my library setup and when importing a small sample, I notice various errors and warnings to various degrees. These include things such as the following:
Syntax Warning: Invalid Font Weight Syntax Warning: Invalid Font Weight libpng warning: iCCP: known incorrect sRGB profile Syntax Error (2364528): Dictionary key must be a name object Syntax Error (2364673): Dictionary key must be a name object FYI - on import, this is being done via CLI on Linux and not with a GUI. Additionally, some epub books cannot be downloaded or opened to read from the web client. Is there some issue I should be aware of? Should I even worry about these? Is there something I can do in batch to files beforehand? These are quite a mix of epub, pdf, etc... Searching some through the forums and on google didn't really lead me anywhere yet, so ideas would be great. Thanks much. Last edited by devtech8; 12-23-2018 at 12:37 AM. |

Invalid font-weight is just what it says: someone did not use one of the values permitted: You need to find where (usually the CSS)
Believe me, running the GUI and the Book Editors DEBUG section, will list WHERE (could be multiples) and jump you there with a click, in most cases. libPNG has to do with Graphics (PNG code ? error) Dictionary Key ?? parcing error You will be surprised how many books from major outlets have (stupid) errors, some made by folk who code Web Pages, but those codes are not allowed in EPUB |

There are tons of books I will be bringing in, is there a way to check and fix these in bulk? Are they all things I can ignore? Just trying to figure a good way to go about when importing a lot of books.
Additionally, if there are plugins in the GUI I can use on a Windows box, will that fix the library and issues even if on a Linux box? |

Most Calibre Plugins work on all platforms. (there are 1 0r 2 that are Linux only)
My top recommended PI is Quality Check PI. That helps identify (so you can hammer the metadata into consistent order). IMHO Automatic is a recipe for hash. |
