Calibre to kindle: Sending one book removes another

I have only a few books on kindle yet loaded thru Calibre. There are two books in particular, if I send one to kindle, the other gets removed and vice versa.
Any ideas why?

Your save to disk template is garbage.
Both books end up with the same file name, thus overwriting
The default (template) is usually something like {title} {authors}
but whatever you do, it needs to resolve to unique names

Thanks
Had a look at the template save and it shouldnt have been the same name. Removed both books from Calibre and then added them again. Seems to be working fine now.

If you had title_sort (or author_sort) in the template you might have fallen into the same rabbit hole as me:

In one of my libraries I make frequent use of the Copy and Paste metadata feature. When I did a lazy search for "Riyadh" I got some spurious results, books I didn't expect to see. I couldn't see a "Riyadh" in the result list for love or money. It was only when I opened MDE on one of the spurious results that I realised I had neglected to put title_sort into the column exclusion tweak.

Easy to fix - Quality Check to find 'em, bulk metadata edit to fix 'em and add title_sort to tweak.
