Format, .mobi, missing when adding books

Hello, it is nice to be back, it looks like my last login was from 2011! LOL

I did a search, format:false, and picked a random entry, and selected open containing folder, which opened in my calibry library, and in the folder there is only the cover and metadata file.

The problem is, when I go to the folder that I added to calibre for this entry there is actually metadata, cover, and mobi files.

So, the mobi file did not copy over. This seems to have happened with about half of my entries.

Any ideas on why my mobi files seem to be not copying to calibre some of the time?

You can not drop files direct into the Library folder.

To add formats, you can drop books into the Details Pane for that book,
or into the Formats section of the Metadata editor.
NOTE: doing this way allows you to drop ANY book there

, there is no 'checking' done.

Add Books or copy to Library (from another Calibre Library) reads metadata and updates or creates (controlled by adding books preferences) a new record.

Use of a Networked or Cloud drive can scramble entries in unpredictable ways, especially during 'updating the book' activities. ALWAYS PAUSE sync when running Calibre
