Formating issues
Hello everyone!
This is my first experience trying to convert a Word docx to an epub file. I want to do this to use the Palatino Linotype font. Three issues I see that look correct in the Word file but not in the epub reader. 1. About the Author not showing up in TOC and shows different format in the reader. 2. Images are left justified in the reader but centered in the Word doc. 3. Some foot notes at the end of the book are larger than the others. Have deleted and readded with no success. When I delete the book from Calibre library and readd using the updated Word file, shouldn't that pick up all the saved changes? I am wondering if somehow an old version is getting picked up. Also, how can I confirm the correct font is being used? Does Calibre have a default font? Thank you in advance for your thoughts. Pattie |

Can you explain what you are doing? Is all of this just to use a specific font? Is this an eBook that's going to be for sale?

I'm not certain why anyone would want to spend $568 Cdn for desktop use and an additional $1,136 Cdn for use in edocuments. Especially considering the edocument licensing is stated to be an annual cost item

The non-font issues are incorrect use (or no usage) of paragraph styles in Word.
Our epubs made by Calibre exactly match our docx files (made in LO Writer, only edited as odt and an extra Save As in docx). Quote:
delete the docx and epub add the docx click OK and convert to epub delete the docx in Calibre via GUI or Edit Metadata (as it's a copy). Any epub in a iOS or Android app needs to be removed and re-added. Calibre can only remove epubs in ereaders and apps where the file isn't copied internally in the app. |
