Unable to e-mail book to Kindle

I set up a gmx account to hopefully make this as simple as possible..

I'm getting the following error (let me know if more logs needed): Quote:

What I'm not clear on is what the field values for "your gmx email address" and "your gmx username" should be. This might be the source of the problem.. what *should* they be? Right now, I have them both filled with the full e-mail address (ex. if I'm using abcde@gmx.com - not real - both are filled out with abcde@gmx.com). Also potentially something else is going wrong.. but I have no idea. Please assist. |

The server is saying you are providing incorrect username/password information. Use the full GMX email address as the username. Also log in to gmx once using a browser. You may need to toggle a setting somewhere in it to enable sending email via SMTP (but that was not needed the last time I tried it).

One quick question, did you login to GMX using a web browser, click settings at the bottom of the email tab, select POP3 & IMAP and check the box that says allow access to this account via POP3 and IMAP? If that access is not enabled, I got the authentication failure error trying to send from calibre.

In fact, after reading your message, I went to the web interface of gmx.. and lo and behold, there was a message from them (subject: "Failed access via e-mail program") stating the same thing. |
