Search library and ondevice
I need to search for this:
From the library: format:txt and format:cbz AND from the device (in the search) ondevice:true and not format:cbz I had hoped something like this would work, but it doesn't (format:txt and format:cbz) and (ondevice:true and not format:cbz) But it seems that I can only use ondevice (without additional search entries) when working with the library, or inlibrary (without additional search entries) when working with the device. Is that correct, or is there a way to combine searches in library and on device. Last edited by AlanB; 07-22-2018 at 09:06 AM. |

![]() ![]() ![]() InLibrary and OnDevice are nearly the same thing, just from the perspective of the view (Device vs Library) Tell us what you want to accomplish (in words) and hopefully someone will come up with a term. BTW you CAN only use ondevice or inlibrary from within the view that the column appears ondevice: true and formats:EPUB is valid in Library view |

Thank you for the reply. Let me try in words what I want to do.
I need to search for books in my library that have the cbz format, and compare that to the books of my device that do not have the cbz format (they were previously txt - an empty file). At the moment I can only seem to search the library for the cbz format and if they are ondevice (true or false), not what format they are in. Of course I can switch to device and search for formats:cbz, and if inlibrary is true/false, but not the format in the library. I need to search the library and device for a format in the same search string. Hope that makes sense. |

Personally, I would work from Library view and just (re)send ALL CBZ that have ondevice:true. Then switch to device view and clean out the extra TXT, formats:CBZ and formats:TXT |
