Series Number Changes when Series Name Changes
Until very recently, the Series Number in the edit metadata window stayed the same when the Series Name was changed/updated. Now it resets to 1.00. Is this a change in a Calibre update, or did I inadvertently change something? If it's a tweak or a setting, could somebody tell me HOW to fix this? I've read everything I can find … please help/

That was 0.9x behavior and should be long gone.
Did you happen to remove the old series and SAVE (move off the book) causing the series to be unassigned for a period? 3.26.1 Win X64 has not demonstrated that old behavior for myself. |

Nice thought about saving, but no … and I only lost this functionality about two weeks ago. The moment I change the series name and move directly to the series number, it resets to 1.00. Thanks for your helpful thought, though.

See the tweak Auto increment series index (ID: series_index_auto_increment). There are lots of options.

Here are the settings I use for that tweak
Code:
# Auto increment series index series_index_auto_increment = 'no_change' use_series_auto_increment_tweak_when_importing = False |

Thanks to both of you for your suggestions — but still not working. I use the same settings as theducks already. Maybe I'm missing something … I'll keep reading documentation and asking for help. Again, many thanks for taking time to think about my problem.
