Where are stored "columns views" and "Virtual Libraries"?
I ask the question to have confirmation that its data are stored in the "metadata.db"?
If so, I find it a shame, because my project of "mutiple users" will become complicated. The idea was that, for each User, I load a "Config Directory" (via environment variables) [✔ done and working] Thus, several Users will be able to work and customize a personal display ("colonnes views" and "Virtual Libraries") of a common "Real Libraries". [✖️ there, it's stuck.] If you have any idea/remark/extension to help me, thank. (Yes, I could create an extension but: 1) Was a last recourse solution, more I can used Caliber alone or with extensions already existing, the better. 2) I do not know anything about Python, I should learn everything) Last edited by un_pogaz; 04-28-2018 at 05:13 AM. |

Yes they are stored in the db, since they are library specific, where else would they be stored?
You can use the existing view manager plugin for this, since it also stores its config in the calibre config directory. |

Per Library stuff tends to be stored in Metadata.db so a user can switch to another, entirely different Library (custom) structure
The Config folder mainly contains per user preferences, plugins... things that control how things look, the libraries locations (for quick switch). |

Thank for the answer
I go look View manager plugin, but apparently, it only work for "columns views". I still do not have a solution for "Virtual Libraries" display (probably, I will submit this option to View Manager) |

The View Manager plugin stores its view definitions on a per library basis.
