Adding books from designated folder
In Preferences under Adding Books, I've setup a folder in which I used to be able to put ebooks for automatically adding to Calibre. This function seems to no longer be working. I've even tried setting up a different folder for this purpose to no avail.
Please help... Ginny Meyers |

@Ginnia - check the Preferences->Add Books>Automatic adding (tab) settings.
Is the file type your trying to add checked in the Ignore list If the file type is not a 'known' ebook type (those in the Ignore list) then you need to check the Automatically add files of all types (not just e-books) setting. BR |

Thanks for replying, Better Red...
The book types I add to my auto folder are either AZW3, MOBI or ePub, and none of those is checked -- in fact no types are checked. This used to work just fine, then with early 3.x it seemed to stop working. I even set up a different folder and changed the Preferences accordingly, but nothing. I do have a space in the folder name, but the original folder also had spaces in the name. I have v3.19 currently installed. I generally don't update every release, but have been doing so, (only skipping one or two releases) hoping the problem world magically clear itself up, but hasn't. UPDATE ---
Just for kicks, I shutdown Calibre, and then restarted it -- the book I had placed in my auto folder loaded into Calibre on restart. Ginny |

That means something is blocking calibre from getting notifications when the contents of the auto-add folder are changed. You can run calibre in debug mode and you might get more info in the log, but most likely this is happening at a level below calibre, in the kernel.
