Kobo Touch Charging Question

I bought another Kobo Touch from Shop Goodwill that was sold for "parts or repair" and, even though it took a while, it finally charged enough to turn on. It's screen was filthy, but in good condition and the Touch is in overall good condition. This is the original (non-b, non-c) model. I like the fact that it doesn't have the "rubbery" bezel – it gives it a "cleaner" feel. But ...

I'm guessing that its battery may be weak. I don't know for sure yet. Since this Touch apparently hasn't been charged in quite a while, how long should it take to fully charge the battery? It's been on the charger for a few hours, the LED is still green, so does that mean it's still charging?

I've taken it off the charger and ran a Sync (or tried to) and the battery (which originally showed 100%) started dropping quickly, down to about 54% in about a minute. But, I'm guessing (hoping?) that the scale was screwed up because I was using the Touch with the power on and it was giving a false measurement for the battery.

Assuming the battery is bad ... how easy is it to replace it? I thought it would be like a Sony, Kindle or Nook – just go to eBay, find a battery and replace it. But they don't show up, and I read that people find camera batteries that are "close" and solder them to the Kobo's battery leads. Has a reliable solution for this problem been found? (I don't mind soldering battery leads if I have to.)

Sorry to ask so many questions. As should be clear, my ignorance of all things Kobo is pretty much complete.

The battery is dead.
It is easy to replace once you can get a new replacement.
I have done it and the hardest part is getting hold of a battery - well it was when I did it.
Once replaced it can take a day to charge up from low, but should last a week of use at about two hours a day.

Thanks. Fortunately, it charged up pretty well (with a little patience). I was even able to sync all my Kobo books to it (using the battery only) and it only dropped about two percentage points. I like this one better than the "B" that I found earlier. The touch sensitivity is much better than the other Touch or the Glo I used to have(?). I don't know why but I'm afraid to update the software in case it's a software issue.
