Searching across multiple pdfs on Android and managing them

Hi There!

I am looking for an app that would let me search through a big collection of pdfs on Android. All suggestions are welcome!

What are you using for managing(sorting/organizing in folders etc) pdfs on Android?

Many Thanks!

I searched for an app like yours some time ago. I found this one but then I have never tried it. Be aware that it contains ads and in-app purchase. Have a look! https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...m.chocosoft.as

I just noticed that in Librera's preferences there is a 'Multi document search'. Not sure if this is a good match for searching a large number of PDFs...

And you are perfectly right, and I did not even notice it!
It searches within the documents in a folder and possibly subdirectories... It seems to work well.

Well, to be fully professional, you should have an indexer engine that builds a database of extracts from all the texts for quick search - I do not know if such product exists for this context.

EDIT: oh well in case we found a niche! Want to write it? ; )

Have you tried Mixplorer? It should be available on the XDA forums. It's a pretty well designed file manager with a good search function. I have hundreds of PDF files on my phone and it's what I've been using so far. It's unclear if it can actually search the text inside the PDFs as I've never had to do that so far but there's a high chance that it does have such a plugin available.

It's not a trivial thing to do it well...
To do it "the bulldozer way" is of course easier.

The problem is: if you have in the order of a thousand document files, each with a text content in the order of a million characters, how long do you have to wait and how heavy are the other inefficiencies when you make the searches on this GB worth of data encapsulated in non search-friendly format?

The problem proposed is good, relevant and very interesting, if it means "which instruments do we have to "google-like" index a collection".

EDIT: the Andro Search found by desk7 seems to go in the right direction
