I've been using a Kindle Keyboard for years now and over time have picked up a number of Amazon Fire devices for the family to easily consume Amazon Prime content.

Some of the devices are well beyond their 'warranty' period and don't get as much use for general 'content consumption' so now I'm interested in 'tinkering' with them for various alternative purposes.

I'll be starting with what I believe is the latest and most up to date Jailbreak by NiLuJe (0.13.N) for the old Kindle Keyboard 3g US (v3.4.2).

So far, having successfully tossed some custom sleep-screens on the device, it all seems to be going well. I do have some questions about blocking potential OTA updates (not likely to happen on a Kindle this old, but just in case), so I've registered in order to better research the topic.
