Calibre 3.12 works perfectly well with an Aura ONE running any released firmware version (or any other Kobo e-ink ereader). I have no idea were you would have seen different claims.

Not that I have noticed. And again, I can't think of any claims of that firmware version 4.6.9995 is particularly battery hungry.

I just picked up an Aura One and installed Calibre (Now updated to 3.13) and so far it's been working great.

Cheers; Snarl

And tomorrow it will be up to 3.20. I've never seen an application upgraded more often then Calibre. I usually skip one or two upgrades, or I would be upgrading it constantly.

Why bother upgrading at all? My calibre never gets updated unless it has to. Last week I had to update to make it recognize my Oasis 2.

I used to not upgrade it either, but the upgrades seem to often enhance performance in one way or another (at least in Linux it seems to). And it's extremely simple and quick to update in Linux. Just click the upgrade link, copy the commands and paste them into a terminal, provide my password and voila' -- in about two minutes I'm using the newest version.
