Configuring the edit metadata pop-up
Is there a way to configure what metadata is displayed when editing metadata in the pop-up? I can see how to configure what is displayed in the main list, but can't see anything to configure the edit metadata pop-up.
I have some old custom columns which are no longer used, and I cannot see a way to delete them from the edit metadata screen. There are also other fields which I ignore and don't edit and would like to remove them from the display (or at least move them to after the fields I routinely use). |

Nope, not working.
I've changed 2 of the tweaks: content_server_wont_display = ['#Dropbox', '#Google'] metadata_edit_custom_column_order = ['#My Shelves', '#Dropbox', '#Google'] But the custom columns are still displaying in alphabetical order... |

Your column names are wrong hover your mouse over the column header in the main book list in calibre to see the names.

OK, got it. The order is now correct.
However, I still can't see a way not to display the Dropbox or Google fields, and in the basic metadata, to hide the Rating and Languages fields. The don't display tweak only seems to apply to the content server not to the edit metadata pop-up. |

That's annoying. Is there a way to delete custom columns?

Thanks! That's exactly what I wanted to be able to do. (Now if there was a way to hide or reorder the basic metadata fields in the pop-up as well, that would be even better...)

@maddz - have you considered editing the metadata via the book list, then you can have the columns you want, laid out in the sequence you want, and have different layouts, perhaps for different libraries (real and/or virtual), via the View Manager optional plugin.
I almost never use single metadata edit. Even to the extent that I don't use the "Comments" column, instead I have a custom column called "Blurb", which I can edit from the booklist. BR |
