Free (Kindle) Dead Man's Blood by Mason Macrae [Mysterious Ranch Inheritance Western]

Dead Man's Blood by Mason Macrae, a pseudonym for the late author James L. Rubel, is his vintage standalone western historical action adventure novel, starring a man who learns the hard way that the inheritance of a ranch left by a distant late uncle is a very complicated affair, involving said uncle's murder and bad local reputation, the roots of which he must uncover even while discovering the reasons why sinister forces seem to want his land at any cost (apparently, short of offering actual money for it), free for a limited time courtesy of publisher Endeavour Press' Pioneering imprint.

This was originally published in 1939 by Collins under the title Limberleg of the Lazy Y.

Currently free @ Amazon (available to Canadians & in the UK and pretty much everywhere else Amazon sells worldwide, since this is being done via their KDP Select exclusive-or-else program)

Description
Never back down…

Walter ‘Limberleg’ Magill arrives in Dry Lake Valley to take possession of the Lazy Y Ranch, left to him by an uncle he hardly knew.

But Magill barely steps foot in the town before he finds himself in jail – not for his sins, but for his protection.

Magill’s uncle was murdered by one of his many enemies, which for some unknown reason included just about everyone in the valley.

With no one willing to talk, Magill has no idea why his name is met with anger and distain from one end of the Dry Lake Valley to the other.

But Magill’s investigations do unearth one interesting fact - sinister forces want the land that the Lazy Y sits on, and will stop at nothing to get their hands on it.

Will he be able to erase his uncle’s damaging reputation and make the Magill name one worthy of the Lazy Y Ranch?

But more importantly, with no one to trust and threats to his life, will Magill discover whose hands are stained with the Dead Man’s Blood?

Set in the beautiful plains of the wild west, Dead Man’s Blood is a dynamic and inspirational story of human endeavour and never giving up.
