Hello guys,
Today I did Jailbreak in my kindle and it was a success! After the Jailbreak I updated the firmware to the latest (5.8.11) and it was perfect! But I did the stupid thing to reset to the factory settings and the Jailbreak came out. Now my problem is that I can not do the Jailbreak anymore. Whenever I put the downgrade file in the root of my kindle it disappears and does not work. I do not know what to do. Does anyone know the reason? Ps: Sorry for my English, Google Translate ![]() |

Before doing anything else, try re-installing the hotfix.
https://www.mobileread.com/forums/at...6&d=1501804569 Put that file on the kindle over USB, and try to "Update your kindle". |

I tried but it still continues the same thing. I put the Downgrade file in the root of kindle and when I disconnect the cable the option to update is disabled and when I reconnect to USB the file disappeared.

It didn't work because you wiped out the jailbreak when you reset. There is no jailbreak for 5.8.11 so you'll have to live without.

You do not need to jail break the device, the jail break is still on the device. You only need to replace the code that you wiped by pressing "reset". Put this file at the top of visible usb storage: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...68&postcount=4 Safely remove the usb cable. Go to settings, try using the UYK (Update Your Kindle) settings entry. If that entry is grayed out then just reboot the Kindle by a long press and hold of the power button for at least 40 seconds. When it finishes restarting, it will be fixed. You DO NOT have to re-install the jail break, it is still on the device! What you do have to re-install is everything else. ONLY the jail break is still on the device you must ALWAYS re-install everything that you have added. |

That signature certification is the "(device) jail break". The "Reset (to factory defaults)" does wipe our 'bridge code' and the application keys. Which is why the special coplate package can be installed, our signature certificate is still there. The user thinks that the jailbreak is missing be cause some application(s) do not run. Which is just plain wrong. The failure of applications to run is caused by the missing application keys, not caused by a missing jailbreak. The "jail break" is ONLY USED TO INSTALL our signed packages, it has nothing at all to do with running applications. If the poster will follow either coplate's directions or my directions (neither of which says anything about trying to re-jailbreak the device) and totally ignore JSWolf ignorant comments, the device will be 'fixed'.
