Any issues with FW 5.8.11 on JB Kindles?

Greetings all.

I'm considering updating the firmware on my jailbroken Kindle Voyage (currently on FW 5.8.7) to the latest firmware update 5.8.11, & thought it might be prudent to see if anyone has encountered any issues doing so?

I rely on LibrarianSync & Calibre to organise my many collections & really want to retain that functionality. I'm considering updating as it would also be nice to get access to the new font sliders etc.

Most of my ebooks are in mobi format, so I am assuming I would need to convert them to azw3 to be able to access the new font controls etc?

And thank you, yet again, to those who make this forum possible, and have put countless hours into working out the jailbreaks, putting together LibrarianSync, plugins etc etc. It has transformed how I use my Kindle!

If you have completely and carefully followed all of the directions:

then there are no known problems.

Be certain that you keep in mind the 5th paragraph of the introduction:

None of our add-ins are protected across updates, you must always re-install them.

Thanks for the reminder - I'll make sure I have all the required files ready to re-install after I've done the manual update

In case it gives you added comfort, I updated my Kindle Voyage to 5.8.11 with no problems and then reinstalled Python, the screensaver hack and the fonts hack through Mr. Pi. All good. Note that the fonts hack doesn't work on all books (I think KF8s are the problem, but not 100% sure).

Did you install the updated kfxmeta file?

Ooops, my bad, that is for the ss add-in not the fonts add-in.
Still, you will want that update added to the re-installed thingies.

Edited to add: have now successfully updated to FW 5.8.11, jailbreak all good, reinstalled python, & LibrarianSync working like a charm.

Thanks again to everyone who maintains these forums & codes these add-ins, it is wonderful being able to use the Kindle to efficiently manage and read ebooks!!
