Create a book

Hi guys!

Is it possible to create a book from microsoft word files?

I've my notes in different word files and I would like to have a book where a single file will be a chapter of the book itself.

Yes
Do spend some time with the Online help (videos and Tutorials).

The problem I see is lack of consistency, therefore an ugly result with just a simple conversion.

Unless you took care to always use the same styles in Word, you are going to have to spend a bit (to lot) of time, making it beautiful. If you don't know HTML, you have a steeper learning curve

Maybe it is time to get professional help (a few hang out here). Don't believe it when someone says "I can do that for you (free or paid)". Get samples (and verify it is soley their work)

@newday07 - I convert individual note DOCXs (which originate from OneNote) to individual EPUBs, and then I combine individual EPUBs into a composite EPUB with the EPUBMerge plugin. Makes it easier to a) add new notes to an existing composite EPUB and b) create different composite EPUBs - by year, by subject etc.

I also convert the composite EPUBs to Kindle formats.

@BetterRed The EPUBMerge plugin is what I was searching for!

But in the new file all the files are united and the index doesn't work.

I'll need to check, but I thought there was an option to retain separate files for each EPUB merged. I no longer do this task personally, outsourced it to 'head office'

Now all I do is to write some of the notes, and send them, as .ONE files, to HO.

The EPUBs we merge have a single xhtml file. The DOCXs have a document header, which end up as H2 headers which are used to create the ncx TOC in the EPUB - we don't have a traditional TOC at the front.
