reading/writing files directly to internal SD?
I've got a Glo HD that charges but no USB data.
I'm wondering if there's a way I can read/write files directly to the internal SD card, so that I can install Koreader that way, and sync the device wirelessly. OSX doesn't recognize the SD format at all. Loading up Slax Linux in a VM, it can see the partitions but can't read them. What partition system and file system does Kobo use for the internal memory? |

There is an old but still valuable page: Hacking the Kobo Touch for Dummies.

Booting into Linux natively, I can read/write to the root and recovery partitions, but the main Koboereader partition is showing as empty? Anyone have any idea why this would be?
p.s. I realize now this shoulda' been in the dev' subforum. |

Doh! Thanks.
This is doubly difficult since not only do I not have a USB data connection, but for some reason on my network it's impossible to download firmware updates on-device from Kobo (it's not just this reader, an H2O v2 does the same thing), so I can't get through the factory reset setup process! |

Is there a way to skip the account setup after resetting the firmware?
Edit -- Never-mind, got around that by manually installing the latest firmware. Last edited by stewacide; 10-15-2017 at 05:10 PM. |

Crap, seems that Calibre wireless device connection with Koreader is broken in the latest versions of each
![]() This was somewhat for naught... |

If you just want to wirelessly obtain books from your calibre library, you can use calibre's "Content server" and KOReader's OPDS support, that still works, as always.
Luck; Ken P.S.; I am assuming that you have tried a number of different USB cables. PPS; You should be able to find Max/Apple versions of the tools to upgrade the memory microSD, they should let you see and expand the FAT32 partition. ( I use BootIce to rearrange the partitions in the partition table so Windows can mount the uSD card. ) Last edited by Ken Maltby; 10-15-2017 at 08:57 PM. |

USB is definitely borked.
Faster and easier than messing with wifi transfer may just be pulling the internal SD any time I want to add new books. This will only be a backup reader now. |

The calibre content server KOReader OPDS approach is very easy. You just turn the content server on (two clicks) in calibre, then you do the rest in KOReader's menus.
I use it all the time, to add new bought books. Oh, yeah, you can tell it to put the file anywhere you want it, so you can use the process to add books for any reader on your device. Luck; Ken Last edited by Ken Maltby; 10-15-2017 at 09:12 PM. |
