OTG file transfer

Does anyone know if it is possible to transfer an epub file from an Android Tablet to a Kobo Aura using an OTG cable?

I know my Android tablet can transfer files to and from an external drive using OTG but I thought I'd ask first before buying a micro usb to micro usb cable.

Thanks.

You can transfer epub files, wirelessly, from KOReader equipped device to KOReader equipped device, using the built-in "zsync" function. Once transferred, you can read it using the reader of your choice on the device. This is a one file at a time operation, so a cable approach might be preferred for transfers of a large number of files. Be aware though that Android and KOReader don't always work well together, I have to use an older version of KOReader (848) to have most things work on my Galaxy 7 Active.

Just tried "koreader-android-v2015.11-1174.apk" from here, and it is working, so far.

Luck;
Ken

I see no reason t would not work. The Tablet would be the host and the Kobo the storage device. It should suffice to use a file manager on the Tablet to copy an ePub to the storage device (just not to a directory starting with a period).

It didn't work on a Kobo GloHD.
I copied a book (epub) to a OTG USB-flash drive and instered this in the GloHD usb port.
The device doesn't recognize it as a flash drive (read: not at all).

My two cents: the usb port on a ereader is not a usb host.

When I plug my Kobo into my compter, I can easily transfer files to my Kobo. It recognizes the Kobo as a storage device..

The same theory should work with an Android Tablet that allows files to be transfered to storage devices.

The Kobo won't recognize another storage device which is what the flash drive is.

Why don't you try plugging your epub directly into your computer and bypass the flash drive. It should transfer files.

The issue would be what method/process works to do that. Using an USB cable? What kind of cable?

Just saying something works without describing how the issue was resolved, can be very annoying to those who were trying to provide solutions.

My initial question was whether or not it was possible to transfer files from my android tablet to my Kobo Aura using a micro usb to micro usb OTG cable. I responded.....it works.

I don't see a need to have to retype everything when it is all there in the question.....unless you are reading only the last answers to the forum and not the thread itself.
