Make dictionary default instant lookup instead of x-ray

So I have this xray enabled amazon book, and I'm using a custom dictionary for names of this book and i Insta look them up all the time but because of the X-ray feature, I always have to select the dictionary each time since it automatically goes to the x-ray feature over the dictionary. Any way around this, do I need to disable the x-ray? if so how can I do that?

Isnt' there an X-ray turn-off under Settings somewhere? It may turn it off for ALL books, but you can turn it back on when you finish reading this book.

I'm pretty sure I've got it turned off, always.

I don't find it, I have a Kindle voyage

You could connect your Kindle to your computer and just (re)move the x-ray file for that particular book. No idea if Kindle will re-download that info if it remains connected to WiFi...

It is something that would vary depending on the firmware version, not upon the model.
Without the firmware version, the question is next to impossible to answer.
