is it possible to download from webserver with a template
I was able to connect to calibre via USB and had no problem downloading books with the filename in the format I prefer.
{series}_{series_index}_ {title} - {authors} however my phone now refuses to connect via usb so I have had to start using the webserver. A great solutions by the way, however it does seem to be able to only download the files in a set format. Is there anyway I can get the files to download with the above naming format the only other way I can get files onto my phone is by downloading to disk and drop boxing them across which isn't the most elegant solution cheers in advance for a great program. |

The server has no control over where the browser on the phone decides to save files. Servers can send something known as the content-disposition header to try to influence this, but it is up to the client to honor it or not, and it only affects filenames, not folders.

I tend to keep most of my books on the phone and that is over 500 now.it just makes finding things easier if they are named via series and number first I guess I could get my phone fixed and go back to using the usb cable, but again dont really have the time to send it off for repair. |

If it's an android or iOS phone purchase calibre companion.

I dont think this is generally possible to do. The problem is that HTTP headers should be ascii only for maximum compatibility see for example https://stackoverflow.com/questions/...header-in-http
As PerterT said, if you want to browse large colelctions of downloaded books on your device, you should really get hold of some app that can understand ebook metadata. There are many apps that know how to talk to the calibre content server. |

To clarify, CC Android supports file naming using templates in all of its connection types: Wireless Device, Content Server, and Cloud. However, CC iOS does not support templates because (apparently) browsing the file system isn't something one does on an iOS device.
