Error message trying to move books from Calibre to Dropbox

Macbook failure involving walking cat (don't ask) resulted in new computer. Moved Calibre library, but now when trying to move book to Dropbox to get to my iPad, get this error message

You are trying to save files into the Calibre library. This can cause corruption of your library. Save to disk is meant to import files from your calibre library elsewhere.

I have tried to use . Connect/Share to move books, without success. Any help would be appreciated....Linda

If you backed up your Library folder, shut down calibre and just copy the entire contents of the old Library folder to the new Library folder

CAUTION, this assumes you have not added any NEW titles.
Ask for alternate instructions if you have

BTW the proper way to ADD Books (not part of a valid Library) is Add Books: <choice to fit the arrangement>

Judging by the error message the calibre library is already located in Dropbox.

DoctorOhh--Navy doc here as well-retired 2000. When I look in my Dropbox, the library is not there. Not sure what to do when I want to add a new book.

I am a tech-challenged individual. I still have my library on the account on my computer. How do I shut down calibre and copy the old Library to a new Library? And how do I then go back to using Calibre? I do use Marvin on my ipad, which is my main reading device.

Do you possibly have a metadata.db file in Dropbox that might be confusing calibre?

Doctor Ohh

Could be.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/a7i9w4bynp...a.calibre?dl=0

https://www.dropbox.com/s/az7ff6dgl1...o.calibre?dl=0

These show up when I hover on my Dropbox as Recent Files, but I have no idea where they are or what to do with them. They do not show up when I open my Dropbox.

Where do I go from here?

Metadata.calibre is a (on)DEVICE inventory from sending to Device/folder, NOT a Calibre Library database (metadata.db)

further info from hovering over Dropbox

https://www.dropbox.com/s/8ilrqm6wn6...ntents.js?dl=0

This also shows up. All 3 messages seem to have occurred about the time I moved my library from old to new account on same computer. I have asked Dropbox for help. I am willing to delete library and try to export/import data from old account, but am still puzzled that I cannot find any reference to Calibre in the Dropbox itself. And I am too ignorant to understand the pathways and what to do with them--or even where they are.

If you use the MR attachment facility everyone will be able to see what's there. It can be accessed in Advanced mode, either via the paper clip icon or via the Manage Attachments button below the text area.

So theducks....if I have this right, you suggest that I shut down my Calibre program on my new account, and go back and create a new Library folder to move my Library to. Would that be a folder on my desktop (MacBook) or in Calibre? I'm not sure how to find my Library folder. thanks...
