calibre-server 3.1 linux upgrade with userdb
Hello I've seen in the documentation to use the same command as install to upgrade an existing version of Calibre. I was wondering if we had a way to upgrade without loosing the configuration (in particular the userDB user for authentication for calibre-server), or is there something I'm missing?

Installation/upgrade does not touch any user created data.

Hello kovidgoyal (you are so quick to answer
![]() Code:
I used sudo -v && wget -nv -O- https://download.calibre-ebook.com/linux-installer.py | sudo python -c "import sys; main=lambda:sys.stderr.write('Download failed\n'); exec(sys.stdin.read()); main()" to upgrade, and after the upgrade calibre-server --manage-users didn't show any user any more and I had to recreate them. |

Unless you put your userdb in the instalaltion folder that cannot happen. Note that you have to pass the --userdb option to manage users as well.

I was missing the --userdb (it seems it was using the /user/.config/.calibre/server-users.sqlite by default).
I don't know how it gets erase during upgrade though. |
