It's entirely the appropriate forum to ask whether a particular firmware version results in performance changes. It's not a "developer" question.

I disagree.
Amazon never released a series 3.x firmware for the series 2.x devices.
That abomination (the Frankenstein firmware) only comes from the developer's forum.
In fact, once the poster finds the correct forum, they will probably find the thread that answers the question.

IIRC, there is a moderator here (HT) that wishes non-Amazon customized things be kept out of the normal user's forum.

Doesn't bother me one way or the other, but the OP's more likely to get an answer here than in an obscure sub-forum that 99% of our Kindle owners never look at .
