I need help with microSD slot
Hi everyone. I need to know the Kobo Eink reader with the closest release date that has a microSD slot.
My default Kobo Glo is no longer recognized on my laptop (i.e I cannot load in books); but the Kobo Glo fortunately had a microSD slot so I could sideload epub books on my ereader. That's why I'm keen on knowing the next Kobo Eink ereader with that slot. Thanks in advance. |

What OS is your laptop running? If it's Windows 10, it is full updated with all of the Windows Updates?

Most recent Kobo device with an external micro-SD slot is the original H2O. (Not the second edition H2O.) They are still selling the original H2O new, but not sure how much longer that will last.

The H2O II (2017 edition) - nothing. Kobo Aura One, Kobo Edition 2 - nuffink. If it's important to you, it's either one of the "old" Kobos. Or - not a Kobo at all. Aura H2O (Original) has both internal and external slots. Glo HD only had an internal slot, but it was easy to reach (back just pops off). There might be ways to load it through wifi. But if USB does not respond at all, it's difficult to get mods onto the reader. |

Anything I can think of that could cause this should display an error message when you connect the device. If the Windows is seeing the main memory, what is it seeing it as? What does device manager or disk manager show? Something that can help with USB connection problems is to use USBDeview to remove all the KoboReader instances. Then reboot and try to connect. |

It's fairly simple. Run the application and it displays all USB devices that have been connected to that PC. In the list, it will show a name. Find all the ones for Kobo ereaders, right click on them and select the option to get rid of it. I can't remember if it says remove, delete or uninstall. Whichever it is is just removing configuration from Windows. It forces Windows to do the initial setup for the device when it is next seen. When finished, reboot the PC.

Windows 10 is basically broken. Not your Kobo Glo.
