How do you enable Kindle app to support split view?

Is there any way that you can make Kindle App for iOS 10 to work with split view? It seems the app doesn't support it. It only works with slide over but not split view.

Split-view has been a disappointment what with the lack of apps supporting it. Maybe some day more apps will support it. I doubt the Kindle app will support it any time soon though, if ever. For one thing, the Kindle for iPad app allows two-column landscape reading, and that would likely not work well in split-view as the columns might be too narrow.

You could use the Cloud Reader in Safari when you need to use split view. Of course that only works if the other app you need access to isn't Safari.

Or convert the book to epub and read it in iBooks.

Adding...I've tried out multiple ebook apps, and I believe iBooks is the only one that supports split view.

I tried to use Safari to access the Kindle Cloud Reader but it doesn't work very well. I can slide the other app, the Apple Note for example, to open but only up to one third of the screen real estate. Otherwise part of the book would be overlapped. I don't have this problem with split view if it opens a general website though such as Mobile Read.

No. The iOS Kindle app is the best of the Kindle apps and tends to have more features than the Android app. I have no idea whether Android has split-view.

The thing that I don't understand is why does an iPad app need to be specifically written in order to support such a simple feature as split view? Even some Apple own apps don't support split view.

We don't have this problem with macOS. We can have any number of windows opened and place them anywhere we want them. The only limitation is the size of your monitor and the amount of RAM.

Marvin 3 supports split view. You can buy an extra Marvin called Marvin SXS. The use of Marvin SXS is identical to Marvin 3. Its purpose is to be able to use 2 Marvins in split view.

I remember the Kindle app on Android to be about the same as the one on iOS. iOS may have a few more features but I didn't notice a big difference in usage.

If I recall correctly, Android Nougat allows split screen for any app. Versions below that don't allow split screen.

Because an app needs to be able to support different aspect ratios for the screen, and some apps simply haven't been written to do so. I'm sure that more iOS apps will support split view as time goes on.

I have to think Split View support is on Amazon's feature backlog (I've sent a request for same at least 3 or 4 times). It's going to be especially desirable to have with iOS 11. While they are at it, I'd like to see them add some keyboard shortcuts, at a minimum letting you turn pages with cursor keys).

I don't have a device to try Android (7/Nougat) split-screen mode with, but I would expect Kindle for Android will work okay with that. Android apps have long had to be designed to support a greater range of screen modes to begin with.

In iOS, app developer has to explicitly support Split View. A partial list of reading apps that support it:
* iBooks
* Hoopla
* Play Books
* Marvin
* Overdrive
* Libby
* Queue (safari books online)

I hope Amazon does add the support, but only if they don't have to take away two-column landscape mode to support it. But I won't be holding my breath for split-view support. Amazon has a long, long, long history of not giving a care about what we end users request. If they can add a feature that helps them sell more books, even totally annoying features, then they will. Otherwise we probably won't see much added just because we request it. How many years have we been asking for more control over margins and fonts?
