Ongoing Backup

Hi

I have just backed up my library to USB drive and wondered if anyone had any tips for ongoing partial backup for files that have changed/books added etc. Trying to avoid a complete backup each time

Thanks for any help

Any backup program that can do an 'incremental' would do the job.

The 'Calibre' part of the problem is:
Recovering a Library from all those bits and pieces.
You would restore the LAST metadata.db, then you need to find and restore all the Latest versions of New ADDS (inc format conversions) , Edits and create containing folders to hod ne stuff.

Get a External HD like a WD Passport. Fast (USB3 capable), fairly small and lots of room for the Calibre 'Export' archive

FWIW - I use RoboCopy each night to maintain a 'mirror' of my Calibre folder on an external HHD.

It just copies new or changed files (which would include metadata.db), and deletes any from the mirror that are no longer in the 'real' Calibre folder

I use Goodsynch to do data backups to USB 3.0 drives and an FTP server. That's all my data, including calibre libraries, audio files and playlists, emails, pictures, videos, EN and ON notebooks, software downloads, configuration data etc, etc.

Here is an extensive list of suitable tools ==>> Comparison of file sync software - Wikipedia
