Free (Kindle/iTunes UK) Watch Me [Freelance Ex-FBI Serial Killer Hunter Thriller]
Watch Me by British author James Carol is the 2nd novel in his Jefferson Winter series of contemporary crime thrillers starring a former FBI profiler who now travels the world hunting serial killers (and who apparently has the unusual background of having been the son of one, according to the iTunes BOTW write-up), this one taking him to a small town in Louisiana to do just that, free for a limited time courtesy of publisher Faber & Faber's Crime imprint.
This is the featured Free Book of the Week in the iTunes UK store, and has been price-matched at Amazon UK. Currently free, probably just until next Monday when they usually rotate the FBOTW @ Amazon UK & iTunes UK (available to the UK only when I spot-checked assorted regional stores, YMMV). Price-drop-check linkage for Kobo UK & Google Play, if you're feeling optimistic. Description (frankendescription cobbled together from the Amazon & iTunes blurbs, neither of which seemed particularly descriptive on its own) Jefferson Winter is back in James Carol's second thriller featuring the ex-FBI profiler from the bestselling Broken Dolls. Ex-FBI profiler Jefferson Winter has taken a new case in sunny Louisiana, where the only thing more intense than the heat is a killer on the loose in the small town of Eagle Creek. But in a town where secrets are rife and history has a way of repeating itself, can Winter solve the case before someone else dies? A Dead Lawyer Eagle Creek, Louisiana. Lawyer Sam Galloway is burned alive in an apparently motiveless attack. The local sheriff's department calls in former FBI profiler Jefferson Winter to consult on the case. A Serial Killer So far there's just one body, but there are going to be more. A deadline has been set, the clock is ticking, and Winter has just thirteen and a half hours to track down the killer, before he strikes again. A Dark Secret Winter knows all about secrets. His father, one of America's most notorious serial killers, had everyone fooled for years. Winter also knows that the problem with secrets is that they have a nasty habit of turning against you when you least expect it. Last edited by ATDrake; 04-12-2017 at 04:31 AM. |
