Unhappy Ok now I really am pissed

What the hell, I have less than half the e-books on the device and the space is finito. 8GB and maaaaby 8-9,000 books and then it's ended. And we are talking about ordinary e-books no pdf or stuff like that. Anyone run into the limitations of space? Grrrr. Why did they remove the SD slot?

A long time ago on the space issue.
General rule of thumb is 1000 books per GB.

If you go to setting > device information, you see the memory status you only have more than 6gb of available storage, part of the memory is reserved to OS.

Sigh, yeah, bugger. I mean I fell in love and didn't check the specs I should have. Oh well. I will just have to change them around in calibre.

Edit: Okay, got it down to 1.9GB hooray. Will continue to weed out what I can

That seems a bit excessive to me. I cannot see how finding what you want to read will be easy. It seems like overkill and of course the space would be used up.

Just because?

My library is only a little over 4,000, but I love having all of my books loaded and ready should the desire strike to read one without having to fire up a computer/Calibre to add something. Thanks to search I can easily find any title, author or series I'm looking for.

Everyone's use case is slightly different.

Well my library in calibre is 13,700 something, my e-book folder is a lot bigger. I dunno I just want everything handy if I suddenly get the urge to read a specific book. but I'll bring the Samsung tablet as well and will buy a micro-micro usb cable so I'll be able to transfer what I want, albeit it will be messy since I only have calibre companion. Yes, yes, I know, but I'll be away from the computer for two weeks! Or I'll just read that book on the tablet albeit it gives me a raging headache. Am I hopeless e-book collector, of which most are fanfic. Yep I am

An dreamer is basically a small portable library where this person has the potential to visit 9000 different realities.. so why not be able to carry ones collection with them. I have over 5000 eBooks my self. And while I can only read one at a time, I do enjoy reading I like the thought of reading anything I want anywhere with out the need to cart a small legion of trucks behind me.

Regards

Jack
