Use asin/amazon identifier to download Kindle Store covers

Hi folks,

I've done some searching without luck for the following -- hope someone can help.

I'm trying to enforce downloading covers from Amazon.co.uk for Kindle book variants whereever possible using the 'amazon' ID identifier. I've changed the Amazon.com plugin to download data from UK and set the Amazon.com plugin priority higher than all other sources:

I have a book with quite a bit of data stuck together from different sources, but want to grab the Amazon.co.uk data whereever possible, including cover, and override the existing data. In the 'IDs' field I have declared 'amazon:B003BVFZ6O' (to link back to this book), but when I attempt to download covers, it only presents me with covers from other sources, and not for the ASIN I have specified.

How can I ensure the ASIN has the highest priority when searching?

If only an ASIN is in the Identifiers box, that is the bias.

BTW I think your (inline) images need to be smaller than 600x600, even when hosted of site. please read the site Guidelines on Images.

Thanks; I've reduced the image size. You're absolutely correct.

I think the issue with stripping the identifiers of all other information is that information is potentially lost -- if I wanted other identifiers visible, but simple de-prioritise them for metadata/cover search, I should be able to. If I wanted the ISBN or GoodReads identifier there, that should be an option -- I'm just wondering if it is currently, or if it's better as a feature enhancement.

If you only want covers froma particular metadata source, simpy de-prioritize downloading of covers from all other metadata sources in preferences->downloading metadata.

However, note that downloading of metadata from amazon is pretty dicey these days, see http://www.mobileread.mobi/forums/sh...d.php?t=276443
