Tempered Glass/Screen Protector on Kobo aura one?
did anyone use tempered glass or screen protector on their kobo aura one?
i found some on ebay, i'm interested on the one that cover the whole front of the device, not only the screen. is that necessary? and will it affect any of the feature(touch, sleep using the cover) in the negative way? thank you. |

You do not need a screen protector for an eInk screen. It just gets in the way. It's not the same as an LCD screen.

i'm sorry, but why? can you elaborate? is the eink screen scratch proof and shatter proof (my only reason for thinking of buying a tempered screen)? or is there other reason? |

The screen used in your Aura One has a glass substrate and is not going to be protected with a screen protector. Treating your A1 carefully is going to protect it. Also, it should be in a good case. I have had a number of different Readers and I have never scratched the screen. My H2O is just over two years old and the screen is as unscratched as when I got it.

Maybe. High gloss panels, like everything Apple and Samsung manufacture, do tend to make finger oil smears highly visible whereas they're nearly invisible on the low gloss finishes typical of readers. So, yeah, if you stick a "protector" with a matte finish onto a glossy device then fingerprints will be less visible on it. The "protector" also will reduce sharpness and color vibrancy, and it could damage the hydrophobic and oleophobic coatings.

I've had several different cases for the H20 and by far the best one was from Mulbess.
If you have not purchased a case yet or are not satisfied with one you have, this case is awesome and worth the money: https://www.amazon.com/Mulbess-eRead...e+for+kobo+h20 I forgot to say they have not released one for the Aura One yet... Last edited by camelriders; 02-24-2017 at 05:19 PM. |
