Annotating academic pdf (without Sony dpt-s1)

Hello,

I am so frustrated that I missed the Sony digital paper dpt-s1. In fact I even was in Japan a few months ago, trying to buy a dpt-s1 in Sony flagship Store in Osaka: it was discontinued there 5 days before I arrived...

To make a long story short, I am searching for a e-ink device with pdf annotations and highlights capacities.
The ideal device should also be able to export easily notes (or allow me to export the pdf with embedded notes). To rephrase it, I do not want my notes to be locked in the device.
I searched on the forum for weeks, but I feel that users are not fully satisfied with current devices (pocketbook latest device, Boox max n96 or 13"3 etc).

Which device in the current or near future market is the best for scribbling on an e-ink screen and reading pdf and exporting notes?
Thanks in advance,
Jean

GoodEreader's crowdfunded 13.3" e-Reader might be worth checking out, they are finally delivering to the first backers.

Be VERY careful of these turkeys. There has been some VERY disgruntled people commenting on this goofy-doofus character responsible for his mess.

Thanks for your recommendation. I have heard about goodreader's product, but was somehow willing to wait for final product release... The lack of real life videos (all staged or with cached content) and the fact that they failed their previous crowdsourcing project prevented me from pre-ordering.

Any feedback on onyx Boox?

Any word from backers on what he actually delivered? Oh and it's not mother's day.

First shipments seem to have taken place today so not received yet.
I agree with the previous comments about the campaign (and the previous similar campaigns), I was very much hesitating myself before I contributed, but decided to take the plunge during Black Friday... let's see if it was worth it.
Due to increased frequency of migraine related to LCD and LED screens, I've looked for larger E-Ink screens to at least be able to use for general internet browsing + some PDF-reading, otherwise my Sony T2 is good enough for EPub-reading.

Honestly, I'm quite happy with my Boox Max (the 13.3" from Onyx)
