I'm sorry if this disappoints anyone, but Agendus 9 has problems. Visit the iambic forums/bug reports and see the listings for just ONE DAY and you'll see this is far from "complete." Once again, Iambic have released a product before it was ready . . . like they did with Version 7 and Version 8.
I am a long time Agendus user. In August I paid the (seemingly mothly) upgrade fee of $19.95 to upgrade to 8.06 PRO. It works nicely, I have it "tweaked," and it performs well. Templates and "Vivid Agenda" make new entries a breeze, the program is fast, "MakeSpot" coloring of the month day colors saves icons and adds clarity. Well, along comes the 1.5MB behemoth Version 9, still with bugs . . . and an ADDITIONAL $9.95 upgrade. I emailed Iambic to see if they would "grant" me a free upgrade since I also purchased FastWriter and TinySheet (both now discontinued) -- the answer was "no." This perpetual state of "beta" combined with constant upgrade charges are outrageous and 8.06 may be the last Agendus version I ever buy. I remember when 5.35 was around 420k, 8.06 is 957k, V9 is 1200k plus around 300k in "add-ons." All this to see an icon of "scissors" for a haircut appointment is a little silly . . . TealDoc, AcidImage Pro and Bonsai don't add up cumulatively to the size of this app which seems to have more bugs than 8.06 did. Some bugs from Versions 7 and 8 still have not been properly addressed, but there they go again charging people for "almost fixing" problems while adding new ones - guess they'll be fixed in Version 10, for another $9.95. If I had participated int the beta program I might have been "comped," but many couldn't even load the thing without it crashing. Version 9 uses an installer - you can no longer pick what you want, hotsync and forget it. You will also in all likelihood lose all your preferences. I can't speak for Bejeweled . . . but considering that TealDoc, AcidImage and Bonsai all released updates Monday and DO NOT CHARGE registered customers, I'm afraid this long time and loyal Agendus user will be giving Version 9 a pass. |

I think Iambic tried to rush out Agendus 9 before Christmas.
Like you said, it is unfortunately the truth that you shouldn't immediately upgrade Iambic products when they come out with a new major update. |
