[Android] Problems with files saving on card [HTC 820]
Hi, I want to keep my books on SD card using CC. I do it successfully on my Galaxy Note tablet. I have just installed CC on my HTC Desire 820 to do the same. I am able to set the default folders in settings on SD card, I am able to use the Android File Chooser to create the folders needed from within CC. However, when I try to connect to Calibre, it refuses, claiming that I selected read-only folders. I am running Android 6.0.1. CC has permissions to read, modify and remove content on SD card.
The problem is gone if I use the built-in memory, except this is not sufficient, I do not have enough space, hence need to use SD. I am getting a message about Android 4.4 problems which sends me to an FAQ item which claims the problems should be gone with Android 5 and higher, and indeed, on Galaxy Note they are gone, not here. Please help. Thank you. Daniel Last edited by danek; 12-25-2016 at 10:23 AM. |

Please send us a CC debug log (a calibre debug log isn't needed) following the instructions at this FAQ: Calibre Companion FAQ - How do I get help?.
In advance of seeing the debug log, my guess is that some formats (extensions) have different specified folders and at least one of those folders is not writable. Verify that only the extensions you use are checked, and further verify that the folder specified for each extension is what you expect. |

I have just sent the debug log from an account @nencki. The default path is in the main memory and has no problems. I have changed the paths to three extensions, .epub, .pdf, .mobi. mobi goes to main memory - /kindle - and is good. The other two are supposed to liveon SD card and are not good. Despite writability of both locations according to permissions as I can assess them in the file manager in the system. Also, if the phone is on cable I can push files from Calibre to these folders fine. However, there is some communication problem with Calibre in that I cannot access these files from Calibre. They make it fine to the phone but feedback is lacking. Life.
Thanks, Daniel |
