Hi all,
When adding a book, calibre (2.70 [64bit]; Windows7 x64) changes its file name to something weird, especially if the file name is in non-Latin scripts, say Persian (Farsi). How can I make calibre leave the file name intact and as it is? Regards, |

@Danesh - in a word, you can't. The author and book folder names and book file names will always be 'ASCII-ised', as I recall it's because some Operating/File System combinations can't cope with non ASCII directory and file names.
E.g. the French writer Irène Némirovsky becomes Irene Nemirovsky, and the Russian writer iʁɛn nemiʁɔfski becomes iRen nemiRofski - they are of course the same person And it's arguably worse for a LTR language like Farsi where نادر نادرپور becomes nadr nadrpwr, or for Mandarin where 励婕 becomes Li Jie I put 'Anglicised' names (e.g. Nader Naderpour) and titles (Zamin-o Zaman) into the standard Authors and Title columns. I have a custom column for the title in the original script, and I link authors to an Authors database I maintain in Evernote via the Author Link column in Manage Authors.
