Red face Keyboard Short-cuts to select books

Since some weeks I have been using Calibre (German version, actually 2.74),to create and administre my eBook-library for three devices (Tolino Vision 4HD). I like the software and give my respekt an thanks to it's "father" Kovid Goyal. There is just one very simple matter, about which I could not find anything up to now:

In order to send books to a device, I have to select (mark) them in the library. Using the mouse, this gets quite annoying with about 200 books inside the library. Sorry, but I cannot find a method how to select single or all the books with a keyboard-shortcut. Am I stupid , or does Calibre just not offer this quite elementary option?

Welcome to Mobileread.

Your thread has been moved OUT of the Introduce Yourself Forum, where members introduce themselves and moved to this forum, since you are asking a question about calibre.

Why not go back to the Introduce Yourself Forum and properly introduce yourself? Tell us a bit about yourself.

@hpr1946 - this is for Windows, and probably Linux - not sure about OSX.

Calibre uses the de-facto standard shortcuts to select multiple items. Ctrl+A to select all in current list, and Shift+Left Mouse Button click to select individual items. You can also use the Mark Books feature, (Marked Books get a gold pin in the line number cells) - Ctrl+M to Mark/Unmark books, Ctrl+Shift+M to show Marked Books, Alt+Shift+M to clear Marked books.

Selecting a single book in the book list is also done in the normal way, use the cursor keys to navigate to the line so that's it highlighted. Then do what you want to do - Convert, Send to Device, Shift+F10 to get the context menu etc.

The calibre specific keyboard shortcuts are documented here ==>> Keyboard Shortcuts. They may vary dependent on Language setting in Preferences->Look and Feel. Most are user configurable via Preferences->Keyboard shortcuts.

BTW - I changed the title of the thread to better describe its content.

BR

Thanks a lot! Though working with a PC for decades I was not common with this elementary information, maybe because I use German software with different shotcuts.

And sorry for misusing the Introduction section for my quite stupid question.

Thanks once more
