Tackling Bindloss

I love exploring the vast public domain! Finding new authors is a treat! I should say new 'to me.' Being able to visit books that my grandparents may have read, books that you won't find in a public library anymore, has been a lot of fun.

But some authors were so prolific that one doesn't know where to start. One such was Harold Bindloss. Bindloss wrote about people exploring and expanding the great Canadian frontier. His novels were romantic in the old-school sense: stoic heroes constrained by duty, determined heroines struggling against all odds. But his true gift is in the vivid depiction of the settings. Wild Canada comes to life under Bindloss' pen. Like, you can almost hear Gordon Lightfoot playing in the background.

So I've tried to sort Bindloss' many works. The categories might serve as bookshelves on your reader, or perhaps as groupings for omnibus volumes. Anyway, here goes:

Why won't people see it? Currently, there are 39 and 37 people viewing the two forums, seems like a similar number of eyes, and those interested in the topic will be looking in the correct forum.

Reading Recommendations is one of three or four boards I check regularly for new posts. I'm always looking for new (to me) authors.

Now, if you would be so kind as to indicate a good source for the books, preferably free, and not as a PDF, I would be most grateful.

There is a big collection right here in the Patricia Clark Memorial Library (most prepared very nicely by forum member Crutledge).

EDIT: Just in case you don't know to look, the few not in the PCM Library will be at Project Gutenberg where I think there is a complete collection of Calenorn's listed ones, but not as nicely prepared as Crutledge's epubs are--there are other Bindloss titles, around or not in non-pdf, not listed by Calenorn and not in PG--)

Exactly. And I am interested. I wasn't aware of Bindloss - so thanks for posting, Calenorn (though being more gracious concerning the assistance of our hard working moderators would have me think more kindly of you).

Both seem to have the same amount of traffic but it will be seen by more people who care. I look in News and General Discussions less frequently than this forum. If you are concerned about the numbers, the Kindle or Calibre forums are buisier.
