Import from old ver with extras help

I had an old ver of Calibre (about 1.7 I think) on my pc. I use a Kobo HD Aura reader and had it running beautifully. I had to format the pc. I still have my calibre library. I had added a % read column, series column and a read yes/no column and also used the kobo utilities plug in to have it all work smoothly with the kobo

My question is, will my library contain the extra columns (listed above) metadata or will I have to redo those after I import my library to the new 2.73 ver? I have a LOT of books.

Do I have to create the new columns before I import my library or do that after import?

Backup your current Library (just in case)
TRY
Right click the Library Icon: Switch Create: Use Existing: Point it at your Old Library. (it should show if it was not Read only)

Preferences: Adding Books: (adding process tab): Tick and Set When using Copy to Library preference

Select just a few books: right click on them: Copy To Library: <Present Library> (the few is so cleanup is simpler if it heads south)

It will offer to create any missing (or different type) Columns in the destination.

If youse happy, do the rest

Use Quick Switch on the Library Icon to return to the Main Library

I just used my old library and it is all there!!
