Calibre already has support for ePub 3. You can add them to the library, convert them, edit them, view them and send them to devices.

So, what are you actually trying to do and what is going wrong?

What I am doing is trying to open a book that's in epub3. My version of Calibre2 doesn't seem to recognize it. Yes, I amusing the latest version (2.73) that was offered to me.

Open?

The Calibre Viewer is EPUB2. You need a EPUB3 viewer if that is what you are trying to do.

The calibre viewer can open epub 3 files just fine.

@RedFinn: You need to provide more information. What does doesn't recognize it mean? EPUB 3 files are just .epub files, so there is no question of not recognizing them. I suspect you are trying to use something else, like an .acsm file.
